Skinny models are yuck

So Denise L'Estrange-Corbet owner World fashion label is fed up with mounting international concern at thin fashion models - telling critics to get over it (The Dominion Post, 2 February). She was reported as having no plans to use bigger models just to be politically correct. Her argument is that “the job of a model is to make clothes look amazing. The thinner you are the more fabulous you look.” Does she mean to imply that her cloths don’t look fabulous on all her customers who are not excessively thin? Are her cloths perhaps badly designed and unable to worn expect by the excessively thin? If her cloths look good on her customers then they also look good on models who are not at death’s door. Denise is the one who needs to “get over it” and change because these thin models do nothing but discredit her brand

Sorry, who is looking foolish?

The man on the left, wearing a fabulous vintage chiffon-lined Dior gold lame gown over a silk Vera Wang empire waisted tulle cocktail dress, accessorized with a 3-foot beaded peaked House of Whoville hat, along with the ruby slippers that Judy Garland wore in The Wizard of Oz, is worried that the Da Vinci Code might make the Roman Catholic Church look foolish.
